This article outlines the updated navigation and creation experience for Redesigned Custom Groups. The feature is currently available in the Pilot environment and is scheduled for release in Production in July 2026. At that time, the existing custom groups interface in production will be retired.
All existing groups will remain intact but will be accessible in a new location within the VRC. In the current production environment, groups are located under ADMIN > ORG UNITS. After July 10, 2026, the groups will be located under ADMIN > GROUPS MANAGEMENT.
Please note that creating groups in the redesigned experience differs significantly from the current approach. It is strongly recommended to review and test these changes in the Pilot environment ahead of the Production rollout in July 2026.
Navigate to Redesigned Custom Groups
ADMIN > TOOLS > CORE FUNCTIONS > GROUPS MANAGEMENT
Create Group
Select CREATE GROUP option
Enter Group details – Title, Description, Group ID, Parent, Owner (optional).
Manage Group Membership
Upload Members
Select UPLOAD MEMBERS to upload an .xlsx or .csv file with a single column of User IDs and no header.
Add Individual Members

Add Members Using Dynamic Criteria
- To add users using dynamic criteria, in the ADD MEMBERS option, select ADD SECTION under the Dynamic Members tab.
Select attribute
Select the down arrow to find the list of multiple attributes. Select the appropriate attribute.
For example, you can select the Last Hire Date, if you are using this group in a Learning Assignment (LAT) to assign trainings to users hired on or after a certain date.
Once Last Hire Date is chosen, select the down arrow to find the condition, and select a date.
ADD CRITERIA if additional dynamic criteria, such as position, is applicable.
Find the applicable position and check. Select APPLY at the bottom right.
The statement below applies to all Administrators hired on or after 7/1/26.
You can continue to ADD CRITERIA to this section to create AND statements (all values apply).
You can add a NEW SECTION to create OR statements (either/or values apply).
Adding a new section creates an OR statement in your dynamic criteria.
You can remove criteria by selecting the X to the right of the statement.
To delete a section, select the breadcrumbs on the right and select DELETE SECTION.
When done, select SAVE or CANCEL if needed.
While it is saving, wait until CANCEL PREVIEW option becomes SEARCH PREVIEW.
You can now SAVE AS DRAFT, PUBLISH, or CANCEL.
Give the group time to update the membership. Return to the group later to confirm your changes.
