How do I send a Marketing Email?

This guide provides instructions on how to set up and send a Marketing Email. Marketing emails are a useful tool to send communications, such as announcements, newsletters, promotional information, etc. 

 

ADMIN > MARKETING

CREATE NEW EMAIL

Select CREATE NEW EMAIL  or select COPY icon from a previously created marketing email under OPTIONS Header.

  1. Email Title - enter title for your purposes only; recipients do not have access to this title.
  2. From Address and Reply-To Address - this can be a no-reply email, a general PD Coordinator email, or as you prefer.
  3. User Criteria - Choose an OU group, individual users, Primary OU (such as Full Time Faculty, etc.).
  4. Language - IMPORTANT - choose English (US) or it will not send out.
  5. Tags - select Display a list of tags ... to review which are available for this email.
  6. Subject - Enter the Subject the Recipient will read and should make sense to them.
  7. Deep Link - if you want to use Deep Links, you can enter here.
    • Select Base URL from the down arrow menu not Default, to create the Deep Link
    • Page URL - select one such as LO Details.
    • Image - if you would like to use an image, select one here. 
    • Alternate Text - you can enter alternate text so that the text instead of the URL appears in the email
    • Link Expiration Date - enter if applicable 
  8. Insert - select in the Message box and locate where you want this tag to appear and select INSERT 
  9. Message - enter your Email Message
  10. You can utilize the Design or HTML options. Then you can Preview.
  11. Send Date - choose date and time - the email will go out after the set time and sometimes it may take an hour or so to send to everyone, based on the number of recipients and if any system updates are occurring at the same time. 
  12. Select SAVE

STATUS - you can review Status (Processing, Queued, Sent)

OPTIONS

  • Copy - You can copy a previously used Marketing Email 
  • Excel spreadsheet - You can export the recipient list after it has sent

CREATE EMAIL TEMPLATE

At the bottom of page, you have the option to Create Email Template that you can reuse as needed.
